Yes, your dog can teach you new tricks!

My resolution is to be more consistent about how I spend my free time, especially during the working week. My weekends are packed with fun, but I could be doing more of what I love from Monday to Friday too.

You'd think that finding time to do what you enjoy would be easy. Indeed there are some things I do without thinking. Like going for walks (my inner-dog speaking?) But there are plenty of times where I put off doing the very things I know I enjoy. It's easier to switch off by switching on social media, rather than switching on the reading light. So how can you make yourself jump at your equivalent of "Walkies!" at the end of a long day?

I’ve been feeling rather guilty this month. I’ve not been taking my own medicine. I started off with good intentions, and yet I’ve meandered off my own marketing path, distracted by other things. My intention is to blog weekly. I launched my new website in November, with 4 blog posts for November. And yet I produced nothing in December.

Does your mother know what you do?

Today was the launch of this new website. It was a gentle launch...

I first wanted to get a little feedback from trusted friends and family members before sharing the news with a little more noise.

Write so your mother understands

In spite of my efforts to use clear, simple language throughout the site, the first thing my mum asked me on the phone this evening was:

What's CRM?

It reminded me that whenever we communicate, our goal should be to write clearly enough that our mother understands. Yes, I use the Hemingway app to check that I haven't used too many adverbs or long sentences. I check that my 'readability' score is grade 7 or 8. I take care not to use too many abbreviations or acronyms. And I was tickled by Eats, shoots and leaves by Lynn Truss. But should I really assume that everyone knows what CRM means?
