Business Blogging for Beginners

Did you know that 70% of people learn about a company from articles rather than adverts? Investing your marketing budget and time in creating quality, enduring blog posts rather than temporary ads will not only attract more visitors to your website, but will also improve the quality of customer enquiries. If you'd like to generate more business through blogging, but you're not sure where to start, this course is for you. 

Who should attend this workshop?

This introductory workshop is for anyone who has little or no experience of blogging, but would like to learn:

  • How blogging can benefit your business
  • How to get started
  • How to promote your blog

This workshop is primarily aimed at those who've never blogged and haven't yet decided which blogging platform to use. Or perhaps you've already made a start, but haven't been seeing the results you'd hoped for. We'll ensure that you leave the workshop with a good understanding of the key things you need to know before you get started, and the confidence to begin and continue writing regularly. 

What you'll learn

In this workshop you'll learn how to write a blog that:

  • Demonstrates your expertise
  • Has a compelling title
  • Incorporates clear headings and key words to improve your search engine rankings 
  • Is easy to read
  • Looks attractive and professional

We'll also cover important points like writing style and grammar, where you should post your blog and how to generate ideas for your blog posts.

This is a hands-on session, so please bring your laptop and any other devices you use for business, such as your iPad or iPhone.

More than 1 billion people visit Facebook Pages each month. These numbers confirm that a large number of Facebook users are active and consistent in their visits to the site. This also makes them a promising audience for your marketing efforts. But do you know how you can target this growing audience using Groups and Facebook Pages?

If you'd like to generate more business through Facebook, but you're not sure where to start, this course is for you.

We'll ensure that you leave the workshop with a good understanding of the key things you need to know to use Facebook Pages effectively, and the confidence to manage your Facebook Page and (optionally) Groups with ease.

In this workshop you'll learn how to:

  • Create an inviting Facebook Page for your business
  • Increase the number of people who 'Like' your Page and interact with it
  • Create interesting, shareable posts that include links and images
  • Use Facebook Insights to understand how people are interacting with your Page

We'll also cover important points like the use of hashtags (#) and mentions (@), how frequently you should post and how to come up with great ideas for your posts.
